Carmen - 10 February to 23 March
The famous four-act opera by Georges Bizet is modernised and revamped in Carmen, the latest production by Opera Australia focusing on opera’s most famous femme fatale. Carmen is an enticing and colourful production ripe with themes of love and lust behind catchy Spanish songs. There’s smugglers, gypsy girls, bull-fighting, and brawls that will have you seduced from start to finish. Rinat Shaham not only steals the role as femme fatale Carmen but impresses with her incredible mezzo-soprano voice - Carmen is a must-see.
